Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteers will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing UNHCR's digital communication efforts. Key responsibilities include designing social media cards and infographics that effectively convey important messages, creating layouts for awareness and advocacy campaigns, and supporting the development of communication products that align with UNHCR's branding guidelines. Volunteers will also adapt existing content into engaging visual formats and provide creative recommendations to improve digital outreach. Each volunteer is expected to deliver two social media posts, three visual assets for publication, and two reusable templates for the communication team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong graphic design skills, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools. A good understanding of digital communication strategies and experience in creating visual content for social media platforms are essential. Volunteers should also demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A background in communication, graphic design, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.
Educational Background: While there are no strict educational requirements for this volunteer position, candidates with a degree or coursework in graphic design, communication, or a related field will be favored. Relevant certifications or training in design software and digital communication will also be considered beneficial.
Experience: Previous experience in graphic design, digital communication, or volunteer work with humanitarian organizations is highly desirable. Candidates should have a portfolio showcasing their design work and examples of previous projects that demonstrate their ability to create engaging visual content.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communication and deliverables will be in English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage, as it will facilitate better engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
