Job Overview: This position will be located at CIMMYT's headquarters in El Batán, Texcoco, Mexico, just 45 minutes from Mexico City. The role of the cook involves preparing a wide variety of foods, including breakfasts, lunches, dinners, vegetarian options, special menus, and snacks. The cook will be responsible for mise en place activities, washing and disinfecting fruits and vegetables, and efficiently controlling and requesting supplies to minimize waste. The cook must apply storage procedures, inventory rotation (FIFO), and temperature control to ensure food safety and quality. Compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards established by Distintivo H and Punto Limpio is essential. The cook will also set up service lines and provide customer service at sales points and special events, support catering services, and collaborate in cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and food and beverage facilities. Participation in inventory management, documentation for audits and recertifications, and support in additional operational activities, including covering shifts and assisting at the cash register, are also part of the job expectations.
