Job Overview: The PfV Team Leader position is crucial for overseeing the implementation of Protection from Violence (PfV) project activities in the Western Region of Afghanistan, specifically in Badghis Province. The Team Leader will be responsible for supervising PfV Officers and Assistants, ensuring that all project activities are executed with high quality and in compliance with established standards and guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities: The PfV Team Leader will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: leading and supervising the delivery of PfV project activities at the field level, ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines, providing coaching and support to team members, preparing and submitting regular reports to the PfV Coordinator, maintaining strong document management practices, and ensuring that services are accessible to all community members. Specific responsibilities include overseeing protection case management, ensuring effective communication with communities, leading community engagement initiatives, facilitating local-level coordination among service providers, and representing NRC in field-level meetings. The Team Leader will also be responsible for monitoring site actors and committees to ensure compliance with agreed Codes of Conduct and supporting needs identification to address service gaps.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the PfV Team Leader position must possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field. Additionally, they should have at least 4-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably with international NGOs in a similar functional area. Experience working with affected communities in humanitarian contexts is essential, along with a strong background in case management, community engagement, or site management. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising staff and leading field teams, as well as knowledge of protection concepts and humanitarian principles. Strong communication skills in English and local languages (Pashto and Dari) are required, along with proficiency in IT tools such as MS Office and data platforms.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, economics, finance, or a related discipline is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of project management and humanitarian assistance, which are critical for the role of PfV Team Leader.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant work experience, ideally within international NGOs or similar organizations. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in humanitarian contexts, particularly in roles related to case management, community engagement, or site management. Experience in supervising staff and leading field teams is also essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and support decision-making processes effectively.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in local languages, specifically Dari and Pashto. Additional Notes: The position is based in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, and offers a monthly salary based on the NRC Afghanistan Salary Scale. The organization provides medical coverage for staff and up to four dependents, as well as leave and holidays in accordance with Afghanistan law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Labour Law.
