Job Overview:
The Area Manager – Dori is tasked with leading NRC's area operations in the Liptako / Soum region, ensuring the delivery of high-quality humanitarian projects while contributing to the coherence of multi-country operations. The Area Manager will support needs assessments, implement projects according to donor requirements, and identify gaps for further programming. The Area Manager will represent NRC in coordination platforms and ensure effective staff management, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations, while maintaining sound financial management of the area office's budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Area Manager will have overall responsibility for managing the Area Office, including potential sub-offices. Key duties include ensuring staff security through risk assessments, supporting needs assessments, and implementing projects in line with agreed standards. The Area Manager will lead the development of program strategies, manage access strategies in hard-to-reach areas, and liaise with donors and local authorities. Responsibilities also include recruitment and management of qualified staff, ensuring training and capacity-building initiatives are in place, conducting performance feedback sessions, and maintaining financial oversight of the Master Budget to ensure cost-efficient use of funding. The Area Manager will also represent NRC at area-level coordination platforms and contribute to advocacy initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or field manager in humanitarian and recovery contexts. Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is essential, along with documented results related to the position's responsibilities. Candidates should have a strong understanding of their leadership skills and profile, fluency in French, and proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the West African context, particularly Burkina Faso, and experience in insecure or hard-to-reach locations are crucial. Competencies in humanitarian negotiations and safety management are also required.
