This comprehensive national document, which spans approximately 300 pages, serves as a critical evidence base for informing policy, planning, and resource allocation regarding noncommunicable diseases in the country. The consultant will enhance the quality, readability, and visual presentation of this important document, ensuring that it meets WHO branding and publication standards. The role requires collaboration with WHO's technical and communications teams to incorporate feedback and revisions, ultimately producing a publication-ready document that effectively communicates vital health information.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Graphic Design Consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Providing professional graphic design and layout services for the full STEPS report, ensuring that the document is visually appealing and easy to navigate.
Improving the visual presentation of tables, charts, and infographics to enhance understanding and engagement with the data presented.
Ensuring consistency with WHO branding and publication standards throughout the document, maintaining a professional and cohesive look.
Supporting the formatting and finalization of the document to ensure it meets publication-ready standards, including attention to detail in layout and design elements.
Collaborating closely with the WHO technical and communications teams to incorporate feedback and revisions, ensuring that the final product aligns with the organization's goals and messaging.
Engaging in data visualization to effectively communicate complex information in an accessible manner.
Producing professional technical reports that adhere to WHO's guidelines and standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Graphic Design Consultant position should possess a strong background in graphic design, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) or equivalent tools. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of visual communication principles are essential. The consultant should also have experience in document layout and formatting, particularly for technical reports, and be familiar with data visualization techniques.
