Job Overview:
The part-time language teacher position involves preparing and facilitating lessons for assigned courses, correcting assignments and homework promptly, and monitoring student progress. Teachers are expected to provide both group and individual feedback, administer assessments, and grade tests and exams as scheduled. At the end of each course, teachers must provide final evaluations and attendance reports for their students. The role also includes participation in the development of language or communication skills projects, with periodic reporting on progress and integration of supervisor feedback to ensure quality deliverables. The position requires flexibility in teaching modalities, including in-person, online, and hybrid formats, and necessitates the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of part-time language teachers include preparing and teaching English language and communication skills courses at various levels, assessing student performance, and providing constructive feedback. Teachers are responsible for designing assessments and communicative tasks, updating pedagogical materials, and constructing and grading language proficiency exams according to specific guidelines. Regular assessments and communication of learner progress are essential components of the role. Additionally, teachers are expected to develop new courses and learning materials, utilizing innovative instructional technology, and to manage courses within the Learning Management System, maintaining accurate attendance and grading records.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in language area studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication, education/pedagogy, or a related field. Degrees emphasizing the theory and practice of teaching a second or foreign language to adult learners are preferred. A first-level university degree combined with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Post-degree training in second or foreign language teaching is highly desirable, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as language studies, applied linguistics, or education. Candidates with a first-level university degree and additional qualifying experience may also be considered. Specialized training in second or foreign language teaching is a significant advantage, as it aligns with the teaching methodologies expected in this role.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience teaching English as a foreign or second language to adults in multicultural settings is required. This experience should include at least three years in curriculum development, language examination design, or language teacher training. Familiarity with e-learning tools and learning management systems is desirable, as is experience in international and multicultural environments, which enhances the teacher's ability to engage with a diverse student body.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with an expert level of competence in both oral and written communication according to the UN Language Framework.
