Job Overview:
The position of Especialista pedagógico is crucial for the successful implementation of the Horizontes Amazonía program, which aims to provide comprehensive educational proposals for adolescents in the Amazon regions of Peru. The specialist will be responsible for offering technical and pedagogical support to strengthen the capacities of educational institutions and ensure effective and relevant pedagogical implementation of the program. This role requires a deep understanding of the educational landscape in the Amazon, as well as the ability to engage with local communities and educational stakeholders. The specialist will work closely with teachers and school directors to enhance curriculum planning and promote active learning methodologies that are culturally relevant and responsive to the needs of the students. The position emphasizes the importance of socio-emotional well-being, intercultural dialogue, and community participation in the educational process, ensuring that all adolescents can complete their basic education and develop the skills necessary for active citizenship.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Especialista pedagógico include providing technical assistance and pedagogical support to targeted educational institutions, advising teachers on annual planning and didactic units, and guiding the incorporation of local issues into the curriculum. The specialist will also support the diversification of teaching strategies and educational materials tailored to the linguistic and sociocultural context of each institution. Additionally, the role involves promoting student well-being and protection, fostering student and community participation, and ensuring inter-institutional coordination. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Education, Social Sciences, Law, Health, Anthropology, or related fields. Additionally, they should have completed specializations, diplomas, or courses in areas such as school management, didactics, curriculum development, secondary education, teacher training, or bilingual intercultural education. A minimum of four years of experience in public or private educational institutions is required, with at least three years in roles related to pedagogical support, technical assistance, capacity building, or educational program implementation. Experience in the educational sector is mandatory, and candidates with experience in the Amazon region will be given preference. Candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to the values of UNESCO and possess the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is a consultant contract with a duration of approximately seven months, subject to budget availability and satisfactory performance evaluation. The role is open to external candidates, and the selected individual will be required to work on-site in Lima, Peru. The position does not include expectations for renewal or conversion to another type of contract, nor does it provide coverage for medical services.
