Job Overview:
The Operations Manager for the Liberia Country Office will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operational activities of various projects. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of Liberian laws and regulations that impact operational and administrative functions. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with project management to ensure that all administrative, contractual, and logistical processes are efficient and compliant with both local and U.S. government regulations. The role also involves maintaining the overall functionality of the office and establishing sound operational management practices to ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager will manage and guide the day-to-day operational activities of the project, focusing on leases, office maintenance, logistics, and overall administrative project operations. Responsibilities include ensuring that all operations align with the project’s annual work plan, monitoring compliance with organizational and donor policies regarding asset management and logistics, and addressing staff inquiries related to operational matters. The manager will also develop and manage tracking mechanisms for administrative and operational documents, coordinate program activities with project and field staff, oversee logistics and supply chain activities, and maintain the project’s filing system. Additionally, the Operations Manager will perform other duties as assigned, ensuring that all operational activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the ability to initiate and implement activities with minimal oversight, assess priorities, and complete a variety of tasks with high accuracy and timeliness. Strong project and personnel management skills are essential, along with the ability to influence and collaborate with others. Knowledge of U.S. government regulations and procedures is required, as well as effective writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of computer literacy, particularly in word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Business Management, Finance, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the Operations Manager has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage the operational aspects of the projects.

Experience:
Typically, candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in operations and administration, with a minimum of three years working with U.S. government rules and regulations. Prior experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into the operational challenges and requirements specific to the sector.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as effective communication is crucial for this role. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the local context or the communities served by FHI 360.

This position is full-time and based in Monrovia, Liberia. FHI 360 offers a competitive compensation package, with an expected hiring salary range of USD 30,000 - 40,000 annually.
