Job Overview: The position of UN Volunteer - Social Media and Translation Specialist is crucial for UNEP's Communication Division, which is responsible for conveying UNEP's core messages to stakeholders and partners. Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer will undertake a variety of tasks under the supervision of the Head of Social Media, including:
Web Management: Translating relevant content such as stories, press releases, speeches, and publications from English to French, ensuring timely posting on the UNEP French-language website.
Content Proofreading: Proofreading all content posted on the French-language website to maintain high-quality standards.
Website Review: Coordinating the review of existing French-language sections of the UNEP website to identify areas needing revision.
Content Updates: Regularly updating content on the UNEP French website to keep it current and relevant.
Social Media Management: Executing social media strategies tailored for French-speaking audiences, translating social media content, including videos and graphics, and maintaining UNEP's French-language social media channels.
Audience Engagement: Engaging with French-speaking audiences through timely and relevant content, promoting UNEP's work and messages.
Analytics Review: Analyzing statistics and analytics to adjust content strategies for maximum reach and impact.

Technological Awareness: Staying updated on technological advancements in digital platforms and translation methods. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong translation skills, particularly from English to French, and have a solid understanding of digital communication strategies. The role requires proficiency in managing web content and social media platforms, with an emphasis on engaging French-speaking audiences. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Additional Notes: The contract duration is subject to availability of funding, operational necessity, and satisfactory performance, with no expectation of renewal. The UN Volunteer will receive a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) to cover basic needs, calculated based on the Post-Adjustment Multiplier (PAM).
