Job Overview: The position of Temporary Driver at the IFC involves providing transportation services for WBG staff to meetings and client sites while ensuring adherence to road safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-policies" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security policies. The role also includes maintaining the official vehicle, keeping a daily logbook, and ensuring that the vehicle is in good working condition. The driver will also take on messenger duties, which include collecting and delivering official documents, maintaining organized records, and assisting in the historical archiving of key documents related to the WBG's operations in Equatorial Guinea. Additionally, the driver will support the office assistant in various administrative tasks, ensuring that office supplies and equipment are well-managed and maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties of the Temporary Driver include:
Driving WBG staff to various locations while adhering to safety policies.
Maintaining a daily logbook for the assigned vehicle.
Conducting routine checks on the vehicle's condition, including tire pressure, oil levels, and cleanliness.
Ensuring that all necessary vehicle documentation is up to date.
Collecting and delivering official letters, invoices, and parcels as needed.
Keeping organized records of all communications and paperwork.
Assisting in the archiving of historical documents related to the WBG's operations.
Supporting the office assistant with administrative tasks, including inventory management and office supplies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with a tertiary education or professional training being a plus. A valid driver's license is required, and a professional or international driver's license is an asset. Candidates should have at least 5 years of driving experience, with defensive driving skills training being advantageous. Knowledge of UN security procedures and familiarity with VHF radios is also a plus. Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory, while fluency in French is desirable. Candidates should have a good knowledge of Malabo and surrounding areas, as well as a good driving record.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a secondary school diploma or equivalent. Candidates with tertiary education or professional training will be preferred, as this may enhance their qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of driving experience. Candidates with defensive driving skills training will have an advantage, and familiarity with UN security procedures and VHF radios is a plus. A good driving record is essential, and references may be requested to verify driving history.
Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, both spoken and written. Fluency in French is considered desirable, which could enhance communication with a broader range of stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This is a local recruitment position with a term duration of 1 year. Preference will be given to local talent authorized to work in Equatorial Guinea. The role is classified as an Extended Term (ET) appointment, which is subject to a maximum of three years.
