Job Overview: The primary focus of this volunteer position is to support the resource mobilization efforts of Purewish Foundation Uganda. Volunteers will play a crucial role in identifying potential partnerships, developing resource mobilization materials, and promoting sustainable support initiatives. The goal is to enhance the learning environment for vulnerable children by addressing critical gaps such as access to safe water, classroom desks, and teacher support. Volunteers will contribute to structured resource mobilization strategies and awareness-building initiatives that aim to improve the overall well-being of children affected by conflict, poverty, and limited access to essential services. This role is vital in ensuring that the foundation can continue to provide quality education and support to those in need.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and establish partnerships with local and international organizations to support resource mobilization efforts.
Develop resource mobilization materials, including proposals, presentations, and informational brochures.
Promote sustainable support initiatives for the installation of water systems, acquisition of classroom desks, and enhancement of teacher support.
Assist in organizing awareness-building campaigns to highlight the needs of vulnerable children and the work of Purewish Foundation Uganda.
Collaborate with the foundation's team to assess the current resources and identify gaps that need to be addressed.
Engage with the community to gather data and feedback on the effectiveness of current programs and initiatives.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills related to resource mobilization and community engagement.
Required Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Passion for community development and improving the lives of disadvantaged children and youths.
Basic understanding of resource mobilization strategies and fundraising techniques.
Proficiency in writing and editing proposals and reports.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.
Educational Background: A background in social sciences, community development, education, or a related field is preferred. Relevant coursework or training in resource mobilization, fundraising, or nonprofit management is a plus.
Experience: Previous volunteer or work experience in community development, education, or resource mobilization is highly desirable. Experience working with children or in educational settings will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Northern Uganda is a plus and would be beneficial for community engagement.
Additional Notes: This is a volunteer position, and the duration of the assignment may vary based on the needs of the organization and the availability of the volunteer. The role is expected to be full-time, and volunteers may be required to engage in various activities within the community. Compensation is not provided, but volunteers will gain valuable experience and contribute to meaningful change in the lives of vulnerable children.
