The Web Assistant will play a crucial role in managing the OHCHR.org website, serving as the primary point of contact for web-related inquiries and helpdesk services. The incumbent will be responsible for creating, updating, and deleting web content based on user requests while ensuring the quality of information through established parameters and workflows. The position requires monitoring the website for accuracy and compliance with UN guidelines, as well as assisting in the management of the Spanish version of the site. The Web Assistant will also be involved in the development and administration of OHCHR websites, utilizing technical expertise in web design and content management systems, particularly Drupal. This role demands a proactive approach to user training and documentation, ensuring that contributors are well-informed about web publishing best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Web Assistant's duties include acting as the main contact for the OHCHR.org website, providing web helpdesk services, and managing web content. Responsibilities extend to monitoring the website's validity, maintaining internal and external links, and ensuring compliance with copyright regulations. The incumbent will assist in posting and maintaining content in English and will manage the Spanish version of the website. The role also involves developing technical expertise in web design, customizing web pages using Drupal, and performing user acceptance testing for new features. Additionally, the Web Assistant will document technical issues and assist in preparing standardized documentation related to web publishing processes. Training and guidance for web content contributors will also be a key responsibility, ensuring adherence to web guidelines and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate professionalism through a proven ability to use standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A solid understanding of web accessibility and usability principles is essential, along with up-to-date knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. Experience:
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in web design and information management is required.
