Job Overview: The ACT Advocacy Academy is a capacity strengthening program designed to equip ACT members with essential advocacy knowledge and skills. The Spanish Language Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the translation of learning materials for the online learning environment. This position involves providing Spanish language support, which includes reviewing translated training materials to ensure they are inclusive and accessible. The assistant will also assist Spanish-speaking participants in understanding and engaging with workshop content, thereby fostering an inclusive learning environment. The role requires a commitment of 2-3 hours per week over a 12-week period, allowing for flexibility in scheduling. Duties and Responsibilities:
Revise the Spanish translation of PowerPoints and handouts prior to the sessions, dedicating approximately 2 hours in total to this task.
Assist Spanish-speaking participants in comprehending and engaging with workshop content as needed, which may require around 4 hours in total.
Collaborate with the ACT Advocacy Academy team to foster an inclusive learning environment for all participants.
Translate existing English materials into Spanish to support the learning process.
Maintain effective communication with team members and participants to ensure clarity and understanding throughout the program.
