Job Overview: The GBV UN Volunteer position is crucial for supporting the implementation of GBV programs in Syria, particularly in the Aleppo Sub-office. This role is designed to enhance GBV prevention and response interventions, provide technical support to implementing partners, and improve the quality and accessibility of services in a challenging operational environment. The incumbent will be responsible for regular field monitoring, timely technical assistance, and coordination with various stakeholders, including local authorities and community-based organizations. The position aims to strengthen referral pathways and promote survivor-centered approaches, ensuring that GBV interventions are integrated into broader humanitarian programming. The volunteer will work closely with the Aleppo team and the GBV unit at the Syria Country Office to ensure effective delivery of GBV services, contributing to the overall performance and accountability of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities: The GBV UN Volunteer will undertake a variety of tasks, including supporting the implementation of community feedback mechanisms, managing the SafeLine hotline, and ensuring timely and accurate information is provided to affected communities. The volunteer will engage with volunteer groups, conduct follow-ups, and organize coordination meetings. Additionally, the role involves contributing to a rumor tracking and analysis system, monitoring online channels, and supporting the development of analytical reports for decision-making. The volunteer will assist the AAP Advisor in organizing meetings and training sessions to strengthen AAP efforts and build partner capacity. Coordination with the PSEA Network and Risk Management will also be part of the responsibilities, along with updating service maps and operational dashboards to ensure accurate data and trends are available.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the GBV UN Volunteer position should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
