Job Posting Organization: The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives from the private sector, environmental community, and civil society. The CCAC is the only international initiative focused on integrated climate and clean air solutions aimed at reducing the rate of near-term warming. It emphasizes swift action to cut emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) such as methane, black carbon, HFCs, and tropospheric ozone. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the CCAC Secretariat at its Economy Division in Paris. The CCAC has been instrumental in promoting global efforts to tackle SLCPs, and Mexico has been a key player in this initiative, demonstrating leadership in addressing super pollutants for over a decade. As a founding partner of the CCAC and a signatory to the Global Methane Pledge, Mexico has committed to ambitious targets within its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), including a 30% reduction in methane emissions and a 51% reduction in black carbon emissions by 203
These commitments are supported by national legislation and sectoral strategies, and Mexico is now part of the CCAC Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator, which aims to enhance the implementation of these commitments through coordinated multisectoral strategies and projects.

The role involves providing strategic guidance and technical support to government officials on super-pollutant mitigation actions, overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of mitigation strategies and plans, and coordinating the super pollutant team to ensure synchronized actions and capacity building. The position is crucial for integrating super pollutants into national policies and budgets, thereby reinforcing Mexico's commitments to reducing emissions of SLCPs.
