Job Overview: The Extended Term Temporary (ETT) Staff Member position at the World Bank Office in Samoa is designed to provide essential administrative support activities. The selected candidate will report directly to the Liaison Officer and will be responsible for a variety of tasks that facilitate the smooth operation of the office. This role is critical in ensuring that the World Bank Group missions and staff visits are well-coordinated and executed. The position is based in Samoa and is initially appointed for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The office is strategically located in the Central Bank Building, which enhances its operational efficiency. The ETT staff member will play a vital role in supporting the office's engagement with government ministries and development partners, contributing to the overall mission of the World Bank in addressing the development challenges faced by the East Asia Pacific region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Extended Term Temporary (ETT) Staff Member include: providing support to World Bank Group missions and staff visits through preparation, coordination, planning, and logistics; coordinating mission schedules and communicating relevant information to stakeholders; managing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security information for the Country Security Specialist; facilitating communication between the World Bank Group, the Government of Samoa, and development partners; managing the front desk with integrity and hospitality; incorporating editorial changes in project-related documents; providing local contact information for visiting missions; maintaining distribution lists and project files; supporting the drafting of routine correspondence and translations; assisting with payments and processing consultant travel; and running various routine errands as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A university degree would be advantageous. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Samoan are essential. Experience working in government organizations or fiscal and economic management agencies is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, effective time management, and organizational skills are required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent customer service skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Knowledge of the Government of Samoa's structures and procedures is a plus, along with a high level of discretion in handling sensitive matters.
Educational Background: The position requires a high school diploma as a minimum educational qualification, with a preference for candidates who hold a university degree. The combination of education and relevant work experience is critical, with at least 5 years of experience in administrative support or related fields being necessary for consideration.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative support or a related field.
