Job Overview: The Safety Training Service Designer will be an integral part of CERN's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining engaging training materials, primarily focusing on e-learning courses, but also extending to videos, interactive content, and visual communication materials. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a Training Specialist to define learning strategies and objectives, transforming training needs into effective and user-friendly learning solutions. Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Safety Training Service Designer include developing and updating e-learning modules and digital training materials, ensuring the structuring of training content and the creation of engaging learning experiences. The designer will publish and maintain training content on CERN's Learning Management System (LMS), which includes testing and quality review of training materials and course setup. Proper documentation, versioning, and organization of produced materials are essential. The role also involves applying corporate templates, design standards, and good practices for digital learning, as well as contributing to the monitoring of training activities by supporting the creation and update of reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI. Collaboration with subject matter experts and support services is crucial for producing clear and consistent training and communication materials. The designer will also support the management of digital learning tools and licenses, use data and participant feedback to assess and enhance training quality, and progressively develop autonomy in managing training projects.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in digital learning, communication, or multimedia content development. Initial experience or a strong interest in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise, iSpring, or Synthesia is required. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM is considered an asset. An interest in safety and technical topics within a scientific environment is also important. The ideal candidate will possess strong digital and IT user skills, with the ability to quickly learn and use a variety of software tools, including MS Forms and Power BI. Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional methods is beneficial, as is the ability to translate technical or complex information into clear and engaging content. A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving, good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a structured environment are essential.
Educational Background: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education Sciences, Instructional Design, or a related field. Candidates who do not possess a university degree are not eligible for this position, nor are those with a PhD.
