Job Overview: The UNDP Unit of Information and Technology Management (ITM) in Copenhagen offers a stimulating internship opportunity in an international environment. Interns will engage with various partners from over 170 countries, gaining insights into ICT and Green Energy solutions that support UNDP Country Offices worldwide. The internship is designed to enhance the academic experience of students, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry experience. Interns will be integral members of the Service Delivery team, which is responsible for providing procurement, logistics, and financial support for ICT and Green Energy projects. This role will allow interns to contribute to UNDP's resilience and recovery efforts in challenging settings, particularly in the aftermath of natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. Interns will also have the chance to build a global network with other talented interns and UN staff, working in a dynamic and informal atmosphere at the UN City in Copenhagen.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will assist in various capacities, including:
Service Delivery: Acting as account managers for Country Offices, delivering innovative business solutions and sustainable Green Energy services. This includes administrative, procurement, and financial support, as well as tasks related to IT equipment procurement, cost recovery outreach, and data management on ServiceNow.
Logistics: Managing inventory and logistical tasks, preparing inventory reports, and coordinating global shipments of equipment. Interns will follow up with Country Offices on customs clearance and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Human Resources: Supporting the recruitment of new interns, coordinating interviews, and enhancing the internship outreach strategy. Interns will also assist in organizing farewell ceremonies and onboarding programs.
Administrative Support: Drafting knowledge base articles, preparing meeting minutes, and supporting office maintenance efforts. Interns may also be assigned other related tasks as required by their supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: a. Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (master’s or higher); b. Be in the final year of a first university degree program (bachelor’s or equivalent); c. Have recently graduated with a university degree in international business, finance, management, economics, administration, or equivalent, and must start the internship within one year of graduation; d. Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program. Desired experience includes account management, logistics, procurement, HR, or administration, with proficiency in Excel being required. Familiarity with customer-oriented service delivery processes, procurement processes, cost recovery, reconciliation, budgeting, and financial reporting is advantageous. Knowledge of SharePoint and CRM/ERP systems is also beneficial.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a relevant degree program. This includes postgraduate degrees or final year undergraduate programs in fields such as international business, finance, management, economics, or administration. Recent graduates must start the internship within one year of graduation, ensuring that the educational background aligns with the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience: The internship is designed for individuals who are either currently enrolled in a relevant academic program or have recently graduated. While specific prior experience is not mandatory, familiarity with account management, logistics, procurement, HR, or administration is desired. Proficiency in Excel and experience with customer-oriented service delivery processes are considered advantageous, as well as any experience related to financial reporting and HR recruiting.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is required for this position. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered an advantage, enhancing communication within the diverse international environment of UNDP.

Interns will receive a monthly stipend, which varies depending on the duty location. The stipend is intended to cover basic daily expenses related to the internship. Interns are responsible for securing their own medical insurance and must provide a medical certificate of good health prior to starting the internship. The internship does not guarantee further employment with UNDP, and interns are expected to work full-time, with some flexibility allowed for educational commitments. Applicants must be eligible for residency and undertaking the internship in Denmark.
