Job Overview:
The Warehouse Assistant position is crucial for supporting the activities related to warehouse maintenance, goods receipt, storage handling, monitoring, and dispatch. The role is designed to ensure that goods entrusted to the organization by donors are maintained according to established standards and in compliance with CRS and donor regulations, as well as international and local supply chain accountability standards. The Warehouse Assistant will play a key role in ensuring that the organization can deliver high-quality programming to the poor and vulnerable by effectively managing inventory and maintaining the integrity of the warehouse operations. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ethical conduct in all aspects of work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date data entry registers and inventory records, preparing necessary documents for receiving, issuing, returning, loss, disposal, and control of all fixed and non-fixed assets. This includes keeping updated records of all lost, stolen, and damaged items and reporting them on a monthly basis to the inventory officer. The role also involves preparing and maintaining records of disposal assets for review and final decision. The Warehouse Assistant will support the maintenance of warehousing/storage facilities by conducting regular inspections and cleaning. Additionally, the position requires assisting with the preparation of the warehouse/storage facilities for goods receipt and dispatch, as well as assisting with loading and offloading activities. The Warehouse Assistant will coordinate activities related to property movement and management of fixed assets for disposal, surplus, storage, or salvage, and will check and process requests from staff for assets available in store.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar position. Fluency in spoken and written English is required. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and understanding of warehouse and inventory practices, be proficient in using MS Office Excel and Word, and demonstrate ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics. Strong communication and relationship management skills are essential, along with a proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented mindset. The ability to multitask and deliver work to tight deadlines is also critical, as is the ability to work well with diverse employees and customers in a cooperative and friendly manner.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics, which are critical to the role of Warehouse Assistant.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar role, which ensures that the candidate has practical knowledge and skills in warehouse management, inventory control, and logistics operations.
