Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Research Analyst include but are not limited to:
Collecting, processing, and analyzing economic data from various sources to support research initiatives.
Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for seminars and outreach activities.
Conducting literature reviews and synthesizing relevant research findings to inform policy discussions.
Collaborating with team members on research projects and contributing to the development of economic models and forecasts.
Engaging with stakeholders, including government officials and academic institutions, to disseminate research findings and gather feedback.
Staying updated on macroeconomic trends and developments in the Asia-Pacific region to provide timely insights and recommendations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong familiarity with macroeconomic and statistical concepts and indicators. They should have knowledge of various economic data sources and databases, as well as a strong affinity for working with data. Proficiency in Excel, data management, and presentation software is essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficient written and spoken English, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is crucial. Exposure to significant and current or recent training in macro- and international economics at the undergraduate or graduate level is required. Knowledge of econometrics and related software packages, familiarity with generative AI tools, and a good command of Japanese would be considered strong additional assets.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a background in economics, finance, or a related field, with a focus on macroeconomic theory and practice. A degree at the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred, particularly with coursework or training in econometrics and statistical analysis. Candidates with advanced degrees or specialized training in international economics will have an advantage in the selection process.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in economic research or analysis, preferably within an academic, governmental, or international organization context. Experience in data analysis, economic modeling, or policy evaluation will be beneficial.
