Job Overview:
The Campaign Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the production and daily operations of multiple direct mail fundraising campaigns. This position is integral to ensuring that campaigns align with the agency's overall goals and departmental objectives. The Specialist is responsible for coordinating various aspects of the campaigns, including timelines, creative assets, data inputs, vendor deliverables, and quality controls. The role involves collaboration with internal partners and requires the Specialist to track performance, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. This position also provides an opportunity to build foundational skills in direct response fundraising, donor experience, and campaign operations, making it a vital role within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Campaign Specialist will execute direct mail fundraising strategies by supporting multiple campaigns from planning through completion. Key responsibilities include coordinating campaign schedules, documentation, and workflows, as well as tracking milestones to ensure timely delivery of creative assets and production outputs. The Specialist will work closely with internal writers, editors, and graphic designers, and coordinate deliverables with external vendors such as mailshops and printers. Additionally, the Specialist will prepare job specifications, instructions, and purchase orders for internal fulfillment activities, maintain vendor capability lists, and review vendor invoices for accuracy. Quality checks on campaign materials, including proofreading and reviewing letters, cards, brochures, and catalogs, are also part of the role. The Specialist will prepare mail file orders and audience segmentation instructions, verify coding and personalization accuracy, track campaign expenses and performance, and assist with identifying and resolving production issues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of work experience in direct response, marketing, or fundraising is required. Experience with budget planning and reporting is also essential. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with direct response fundraising concepts, such as donor acquisition, renewals, segmentation, and campaign lifecycles. Strong decision-making and negotiating skills, as well as an understanding of fundraising concepts and a demonstrated ability to raise money, are highly valued.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the principles of marketing and communication strategies that are essential in executing successful fundraising campaigns.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in direct response, marketing, or fundraising. This experience should include a solid understanding of campaign management and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication, both written and verbal, within the organization and with external partners.

Additional Notes:
The position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Travel may be required, with the expectation of up to 10% travel at a time.
