Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Advisor will be responsible for several key duties, including:
  • Developing and implementing standards, tools, and best practices in social and behavior change, risk communication, and community engagement specifically for the Ebola response.
  • Providing technical solutions to regional and CP teams, both remotely and on-site, to ensure high-quality program design and implementation.
  • Leading or contributing to the technical design of large and complex proposals, including defining monitoring systems and indicators.
  • Advising project teams on integrating donor strategies and technical requirements into CRS’ approach.
  • Contributing to capacity strengthening initiatives for staff and partners through training, workshops, and mentoring.
  • Engaging in knowledge management and learning by collecting and analyzing program data, evaluating projects, and sharing lessons learned.
  • Ensuring that all activities align with CRS’ mission and values, particularly in safeguarding vulnerable populations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or a related field, with a minimum of eight years of relevant international experience in an advisory or management role, ideally within an international NGO. This experience should include at least three years focused on programming interventions in global health and nutrition. Previous experience in providing technical assistance and developing successful proposals for external donor funding is essential. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related field, which would be advantageous for the role.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or a global health-related field as a minimum educational qualification. A Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related field is preferred and would enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of eight years of relevant international working experience, with progressive responsibilities in advisory or management roles. This experience should ideally be within an international NGO context, with a focus on health and nutrition programming. Candidates should also have a proven track record of providing technical assistance and developing successful proposals for donor funding, demonstrating their capability to manage complex projects effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of French is preferred but not required, which could enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and partners in various regions.

Additional Notes:
This is a part-time position, requiring a commitment of 30% Level of Effort (LOE). The role does not involve supervisory responsibilities. Candidates must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
