Job Overview:
The ET Consultant position within the World Bank Group's Gender Department focuses on enhancing gender equality through data analytics and operational support. The consultant will be part of the Results & Innovation Team, which is dedicated to improving data-driven decision-making related to gender policies and operations. This role involves supporting the implementation of the Gender Strategy (2024–2030) and various gender-related commitments, requiring a strong emphasis on data management, validation, and the development of innovative analytical tools, including AI solutions. The consultant will work closely with senior operations officers and various departments to ensure effective integration of gender indicators into operational systems and contribute to the overall monitoring and reporting of gender outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for a range of duties including: collecting, cleaning, classifying, and validating data for various gender strategy indicators; supporting the development and refinement of dashboards for Country Management Units (CMUs) and regions using tools like Power BI; integrating gender indicators into operational data systems; conducting in-depth analyses and contributing to outcome monitoring; assisting in the development of a Gender Intelligence AI tool; aligning methodologies across World Bank and IFC results data; producing guidance notes and analytical briefs summarizing gender indicator trends; and contributing to methodological documentation such as data dictionaries and validation notes. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple deliverables effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree combined with five years of relevant experience is acceptable. Strong proficiency in statistical software such as Python, R, SQL, PowerQuery, or Stata, as well as advanced Excel skills, are essential. Experience in developing dashboards, particularly with Power BI, is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to analyze and validate large datasets, possess strong organizational skills, and be detail-oriented, collaborative, and solution-focused. Familiarity with World Bank Group operations, gender analysis, or Scorecard reporting is advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or Public Policy. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor's degree accompanied by five years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of data analysis and the application of statistical methods in the context of gender equality initiatives.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of five years in a relevant field if holding a Bachelor's degree. Candidates with a Master's degree are expected to have relevant experience that demonstrates their ability to handle complex data sets and contribute to gender-focused projects.
