Job Overview: The Technical Officer position at FHI 360 is crucial for supporting both national and regional projects in West Africa, particularly in the areas of HIV/AIDS prevention and management. The role involves working on two significant projects: EpiC, which aims to enhance the management of national HIV programs, and Knowledge SUCCESS, which focuses on improving knowledge sharing and collaboration in family planning and reproductive health. The Technical Officer will assist in organizing action plans, coordinating supervision missions, evaluating program achievements, and preparing various reports and documentation. This position requires a proactive approach to support project teams in implementing effective strategies and ensuring compliance with FHI 360 and USAID standards. The officer will also engage in knowledge management activities, facilitating knowledge sharing and learning among stakeholders in the region, thereby contributing to the overall success of the projects.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Technical Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities including: assisting the program team in organizing action plans and coordinating supervision missions; evaluating program achievements and preparing technical reports; organizing meetings and ensuring proper documentation; supporting project teams in managing sub-agreements with partners; ensuring compliance with documentation standards; contributing to the annual action plan; facilitating knowledge management activities; providing technical assistance and promoting knowledge sharing at national and regional levels; planning and executing knowledge exchange meetings; and contributing to project communication efforts by collecting success stories and collaborating with the communication team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's degree (BAC + 3) in sociology, communication, project management, public health, psychology, or a related field. They should have demonstrated experience of 4 to 7 years in supporting or implementing communication, documentation, or international development programs, preferably within an international NGO focused on health. A strong understanding of the Senegalese health system and experience with community programs is essential. Familiarity with USAID/PEPFAR and Global Fund regulations is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French are required, with a good command of English being an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is also necessary.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BAC + 3) in relevant fields such as sociology, communication, project management, public health, or psychology. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of health programs and effective communication strategies necessary for the role.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have between 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in the field.
