Job Overview:
The Human Resources Assistant (Entitlements and Benefits) plays a vital role in coordinating and performing a comprehensive range of human resources support functions. This position is essential for ensuring the quality, transparency, and consistency of data and processes within the HR domain. The incumbent will contribute to the smooth functioning of human resources operations by managing various personnel actions, analyzing complex HR requests, and providing guidance to staff and managers. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while adhering to established timelines and quality standards. The Human Resources Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in personnel records and will support the training and development of other HR support staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Assistant (Entitlements and Benefits) will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: coordinating support services related to the employment and service of staff and mobile workforce; initiating personnel actions such as appointments, extensions, and transfers; analyzing and processing complex HR requests related to entitlements and benefits; supporting the briefing and de-briefing of staff; communicating with applicants and preparing offers/terms of employment; collecting and researching background information; drafting correspondence, reports, and statistics related to HR functions; reviewing and maintaining confidential personnel information; investigating and resolving payment inquiries in collaboration with finance staff; preparing payment instructions; training and providing guidance to other HR support staff; participating in the preparation and delivery of training materials; and performing other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education and have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in administrative and human resources support work. A working knowledge of English (proficiency - level C) is mandatory, along with very good knowledge of MS Office applications and office technology equipment. Candidates must also be nationals of Hungary or possess an existing visa/work permit and reside within commuting distance of Budapest at the time of application.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a secondary school education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the administrative and human resources functions that the role entails.

Experience:
Candidates are required to have at least four years of relevant experience in administrative and human resources support work. This experience should encompass a range of HR activities, demonstrating the ability to handle complex requests and provide effective support to staff and management.

Languages:
A working knowledge of English (proficiency - level C) is mandatory for this position. Additionally, having intermediate knowledge (intermediate proficiency - level B) of another FAO official language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as General Service Staff, which means that candidates must be nationals of Hungary or possess a valid visa/work permit. The role is expected to be full-time, and candidates must reside within commuting distance of the duty station in Budapest.
