Job Overview:
The Human Resources Assistant (Affiliate Personnel) plays a vital role in coordinating and performing a comprehensive range of human resources support functions within the FAO Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Budapest, Hungary. This position is essential for ensuring the quality, transparency, and consistency of data and processes related to human resources operations. The incumbent will work independently while also collaborating closely with the HR team and other staff members to provide effective human resources support. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring that all human resources operations run smoothly and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for a variety of key functions, including but not limited to: coordinating support services related to the employment and service of staff and mobile workforce; initiating personnel actions such as appointments, extensions, and transfers; analyzing and processing complex human resources requests related to entitlements and benefits; supporting the briefing and de-briefing of staff; communicating with applicants and preparing offers/terms of employment; collecting and researching background information; drafting correspondence, reports, and statistics related to human resources functions; maintaining and updating confidential personnel information and records; investigating and resolving payment inquiries in collaboration with finance staff; training and providing guidance to other human resources support staff; participating in the preparation of training materials; and performing other duties as required. The incumbent's work directly impacts the smooth operations and overall quality of the work unit, playing a crucial role in the provision of human resources support services.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education and have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in administrative and human resources support work. They should demonstrate a strong understanding of human resources activities and transactions, including corporate policies, rules, and procedures. Additionally, candidates must have very good knowledge of MS Office applications and office technology equipment, as well as a working knowledge of English at proficiency level C.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a secondary school education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the administrative and human resources functions that the role entails.

Experience:
Candidates are required to have at least four years of relevant experience in administrative and human resources support work. This experience should encompass a variety of tasks related to human resources management, ensuring that the candidate is well-prepared to handle the responsibilities of the position effectively.

Languages:
A working knowledge of English at proficiency level C is mandatory for this position. Additionally, it is desirable for candidates to have intermediate knowledge (level B) of another FAO official language, which may include Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish.
