Job Overview: The Investment Analyst position at IFC’s Singapore office is a dynamic role that focuses on assessing fund managers in Asia, particularly in developing Southeast Asia. The analyst will evaluate fund managers' alignment with IFC’s investment criteria, which includes financial returns, development impact, and adherence to environmental and social standards. The role also involves conducting portfolio monitoring analyses for existing investments and supporting corporate assignments and global portfolio analyses. The Investment Analyst will assist Investment Officers with due diligence and structuring of private equity fund investment projects, coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with IFC standards, and conduct industry research to create market mappings. This position requires a high level of interest in private equity, international business, emerging markets, and development impact.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Investment Analyst are categorized into three main areas: New Business, Portfolio Management, and Corporate Strategy. In New Business, the analyst will assist Investment Officers with due diligence and structuring of private equity fund investment projects in East Asia, coordinate with internal IFC stakeholders to process investment projects, and conduct industry research while networking at regional and global industry conferences. In Portfolio Management, the analyst will actively monitor fund relationships, review private equity funds information, prepare internal reports and valuations, participate in annual meetings with fund managers, and coordinate with the Legal department and Portfolio Manager for portfolio decisions. Additionally, the analyst will build and maintain client relationships to enhance new business opportunities and prepare documentation for internal processes. In Corporate Strategy, the analyst will assist Global Managers with assignments related to corporate strategy, analyze the development impact of IFC’s funds’ portfolio, perform deep dives on target regions and sectors, and ensure data accuracy in internal systems.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree or higher from a reputable university, preferably with a major in economics, finance, or accounting. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in an analyst role in equity investments or corporate finance, or 2 years of consulting experience with an established consulting firm. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative solutions. The ability to work successfully in multi-cultural teams and across boundaries is crucial, as well as demonstrated teamwork skills and a strong client service orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory.

Additional Notes: The position is a local recruitment opportunity with a term duration of 3 years, which may be extended to a maximum of 5 years in total. The selected candidate will be offered a standard three-year term appointment unless they are a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, in which case they will retain their existing appointment.
