Job Overview: The National Project Officer will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the ILO's project activities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Duties and Responsibilities: The National Project Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including: reviewing and analyzing national development plans and socioeconomic data; identifying potential areas for technical cooperation; collaborating with partners to design and revise project work plans; preparing budget proposals; monitoring project progress and ensuring clarity and consistency in reports; providing regular advice to authorities on technical matters; assisting in resource programming and control; participating in conferences and training sessions; drafting official correspondence and reports; and performing other duties as assigned by the Chief Technical Advisor. The officer will also be expected to undertake missions to project sites and represent the project at various gatherings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders involved in the project.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in economics, public law, public administration, social sciences, development studies, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of professional experience at the national level in social protection and social policy. Technical knowledge and experience in automating public services through digital solutions or reviewing labor statistics will be considered advantageous. Demonstrated experience in supporting social security and social protection reforms is also a plus. Candidates should exhibit strong analytical skills, good computer proficiency, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a first-level university degree in relevant fields such as economics, public law, public administration, social sciences, or development studies. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of social protection systems and the legal frameworks that govern them, as well as for effectively analyzing socioeconomic data and contributing to policy development.
