Job Overview: The position of Expert Roster Circular Economy Technical Experts is designed to engage professionals with expertise in Circular Economy (CE) technologies and facilities. The role involves contributing to the development and implementation of projects that promote sustainable practices and resource efficiency. Experts will be expected to provide technical guidance, conduct assessments, and support the design of CE initiatives that align with UNDP's mission of fostering sustainable development. The position offers flexibility as it allows for both remote and on-site work, catering to the needs of the projects and the experts involved. The initial contract is for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years, depending on project requirements and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Providing technical expertise in the design and implementation of Circular Economy projects.
Conducting assessments of existing systems and identifying opportunities for improvement in resource efficiency.
Collaborating with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and civil society organizations, to promote CE initiatives.
Developing training materials and conducting workshops to enhance understanding of CE principles among stakeholders.
Monitoring and evaluating the impact of CE projects and providing recommendations for future initiatives.
Contributing to the preparation of reports and documentation related to CE projects.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in Circular Economy principles and practices, with a focus on sustainable development. They should have experience in project management, technical consulting, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams. Proficiency in project design and implementation, as well as familiarity with UNDP's operational procedures, will be advantageous.
Educational Background: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainable development, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees (master's or PhD) in relevant disciplines will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Circular Economy concepts and their application in various sectors.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in the field of Circular Economy, sustainability, or related areas. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs on sustainable development projects is highly desirable. Proven track record of successful project implementation and stakeholder engagement is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the regions where UNDP operates, would be considered a plus, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as an Individual Consultant role under a Long-term Agreement. The contract duration is initially set for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years based on performance and project needs. The position allows for both remote work and on-site assignments, providing flexibility in work arrangements.
