Job Overview:
The Associate, Funding position is integral to the Treasury Department of the EBRD, focusing on the reporting requirements to key stakeholders within the Funding team. This role operates with a degree of autonomy and is responsible for collating, verifying, monitoring, and compiling data to meet both ad hoc and regular information requirements that support the Bank's Borrowing Programme. The position requires a thorough analysis of rating agency and regulatory methodologies, as well as a solid understanding of key systems to maintain the Bank's triple-A rating and fulfill obligations to investors. The Associate will play a crucial role in managing extensive information requests related to bond issuance, which come from various stakeholders including investors, credit rating agencies, and market regulators. This role not only supports the EBRD's annual Borrowing Programme but also enhances investor relations through meticulous data management and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate, Funding include:
  • Collating, verifying, and compiling data required for rating agencies and investors' requests and presentations, both on an ad hoc and regular basis.
  • Monitoring all data requests and reports related to EBRD as an issuer, analyzing any changes in methodology and scope of inquiry to identify new areas of market focus and additional data requirements.
  • Reconciling all data in the Funding Database with that from the Operations Department to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintaining and updating the biennial Paris Alignment Survey for Treasury counterparties.
  • Actively contributing to data and process improvements across all activities, collaborating closely with departments such as Risk Management, Operational Strategy and Planning, Environment and Sustainability, Financial Strategy, and Financial Control to facilitate data gathering.
  • Ensuring that all required quarterly information is sent to regulators, stock exchanges, paying agents, listing agents, and depositories in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and updating information on EBRD's funding activities on the website, including pricing supplements for all listed bonds.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Associate, Funding position include:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in debt capital markets within a major financial institution, demonstrating a strong understanding of funding mechanisms.
  • Strong quantitative skills and a practical understanding of the key elements of funding operations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to plan effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau for data analysis and presentation.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues across various departments.
  • A highly motivated, committed, and tenacious approach to work, with the ability to work autonomously while also being a good team player.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical matters in clear language.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Associate, Funding position includes a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience in a relevant area may also be considered acceptable. A strong academic foundation in quantitative analysis and financial principles is essential for success in this role.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for the Associate, Funding position includes prior experience in debt capital markets, ideally within a major financial institution. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with financial data, understanding market dynamics, and engaging with stakeholders such as investors and regulatory bodies. Experience in data management and reporting, particularly in relation to bond issuance and funding activities, is highly desirable.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is proficiency in English, as it is the primary language of communication within the EBRD. Additional languages are considered a plus, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates, as they can enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.
