Job Overview:
The Economic Recovery Officer will play a crucial role in implementing livelihood activities related to economic recovery projects. This includes providing technical training, enhancing life and business skills, coaching sessions, and facilitating job placements. The officer will report directly to the Economic Recovery Team Leader and will be responsible for ensuring that beneficiaries receive the necessary support to improve their economic situations. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing solutions, as well as maintaining relationships with local stakeholders and service providers to enhance the effectiveness of the program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Economic Recovery Officer's duties include implementing livelihoods program activities, such as providing micro business grants and vocational skills training. The officer will also mentor and coach beneficiaries, assist in developing livelihood counseling forms, and provide one-on-one support to community center beneficiaries. Regular monitoring of project activities is essential, along with maintaining accurate records in DRC's database. The officer will establish relationships with vocational training providers and small businesses, participate in selection committees for business proposals, and ensure the attendance of beneficiaries is accurately tracked. Additionally, the officer will contribute to developing a livelihood referral system, track referrals, and support beneficiaries in maximizing available resources. Building relationships with service providers and communicating effectively with beneficiaries are also key responsibilities. The officer will assist in monitoring and evaluating the program by collecting information on community needs and providing feedback to management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as economics, development studies, or business. A minimum of four years of experience working with an INGO in livelihoods programming or economic recovery is required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with local stakeholders are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as a willingness to travel frequently within the region. Proficiency in data collection applications like KOBO is preferred, along with experience in relationship management and working with vulnerable communities.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area such as economics, development studies, or business is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of economic recovery and livelihoods programming.

Experience:
The position requires at least four years of relevant experience working with an international non-governmental organization (INGO) in livelihoods programming or economic recovery. This experience should include direct involvement in implementing programs that support economic self-reliance for vulnerable populations, particularly in conflict-affected areas.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, while proficiency in English is considered good to have. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages is crucial for interacting with beneficiaries and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Karak, Jordan, and requires the candidate to use their own vehicle for field visits, with travel expenses reimbursed according to DRC policy. The role is full-time and involves frequent travel to the Ma’an governorate.
