Job Overview:
The Finance Unit Team Coordinator position is integral to the operations of the FAO Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Budapest, Hungary. This role involves overseeing a team responsible for various financial functions, including banking, accounts payable, and asset management. The coordinator is expected to ensure that the team meets established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and provides optimal service to clients. The position requires a proactive approach to process improvement and the development of training programs to enhance team performance. The coordinator will also engage with internal and external partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. This role is pivotal in supporting the transition of newly onboarded countries into the I2P process, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance operations within FAO.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Finance Unit Team Coordinator include coordinating and supervising the operational team in banking, accounts payable, and asset management. The coordinator will ensure timely delivery of results in accordance with SLAs and respond effectively to client inquiries. Responsibilities also include creating and maintaining Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) for accounts payable, supporting transition activities for new countries, and developing a comprehensive training plan aligned with the I2P Vertical Integration roadmap. The coordinator will monitor team performance, prepare and analyze financial reports, and provide insights for operational improvements. Additionally, the role involves contributing to process improvement initiatives, developing training materials, and promoting best practices across the organization. The coordinator will also perform other duties as required by management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in business or public administration or a related field. Those with a bachelor's degree must have two additional years of relevant professional experience. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in people management, administration, accounting, audit, budget, or finance is required. Proficiency in English (level C) is mandatory, along with limited knowledge of another FAO language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish. Candidates should demonstrate strong results focus, teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in business, public administration, or a related discipline recognized by the IAU/UNESCO. For candidates with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of two additional years of relevant professional experience is necessary to meet the qualifications for this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in areas such as people management, administration, accounting, audit, budget, or finance. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing teams and delivering results in a financial context. Experience in procurement, finance, business analysis, banking, and payment processing is highly desirable, as well as familiarity with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

Languages:
A working knowledge of English at a proficient level (C) is mandatory for this position. Additionally, candidates should have limited knowledge of another FAO language, which could include Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish. Proficiency in multiple languages is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.
