Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Security Officer (P3) include providing technical advice and guidance on security assessments and plans to Country Offices, developing systems for monitoring and assessing security situations, conducting context analysis in conflict-affected areas, and communicating security guarantees for WFP operations. They are responsible for keeping up to date with local security developments, monitoring security management communications systems, and building productive relationships with local partners. Additionally, Security Officers manage junior security staff, facilitate training sessions, oversee reporting on security matters, and support the monitoring and evaluation of WFP activities. They may also act in an emergency response capacity as required, ensuring that WFP can meet food assistance needs during crises.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Security Officer (P3) position must possess an advanced university degree in Security Management, International Relations, Law Enforcement, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be accepted. A diploma from a Military or Police Academy with qualifying experience may also be considered in lieu of the first university degree. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in security risk management, including assessing security risks and implementing security measures. Desired experiences include contributing to the development of security monitoring systems, providing technical security operations advice, managing small teams, and demonstrating a strong willingness to operate in high-risk environments.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Security Officer (P3) position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Security Management, International Relations, or Law Enforcement. Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term International Professional role with a rotational contract and a probationary period of one year. Selected candidates will be required to relocate to the corresponding duty station for their assignment.
