Job Overview: The Project Clerk position at UN Women SL is designed to provide comprehensive administrative, project management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting support for the project titled 'Empowering Communities Through Gender-Responsive Local Governance: Building Institutional Capacity for Inclusive Service Delivery.' This project is a three-year initiative funded by the Embassy of Iceland, set to run from December 1, 2025, to December 31, 2028, with a total budget of USD 1.8 million. The project aims to ensure equitable access to quality services, resources, and opportunities for women, youth, and girls, particularly those from vulnerable and marginalized groups, within their local communities. The Project Clerk will report to the CO Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Officer and collaborate with the project team to deliver project activities effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Clerk will be responsible for a variety of administrative and logistical tasks, including: providing support for the formulation and management of programs, assisting in the preparation of work plans, budgets, and proposals, tracking fund delivery, and supporting executing partners with routine delivery and reporting of program activities. The role also involves organizing logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, making travel arrangements for the program team, drafting meeting minutes, preparing presentations, and maintaining organized filing systems. Additionally, the Project Clerk will assist in monitoring and evaluating program activities, conducting data entry and analysis, maintaining trackers for actions and deliverables, and supporting the organization of training sessions for office personnel and partners.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications, including the ability to gather and interpret data, present conclusions and recommendations logically, and create clear and presentable information using appropriate IT tools. Knowledge of social media and communication strategies, event planning skills, and the ability to communicate project results effectively across teams are essential. Familiarity with result-based management, program management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting is crucial, along with good analytical skills for data generation and management. A strong understanding of gender equality and women's rights issues, as well as knowledge of the UN system and inter-governmental processes, is also required.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include the completion of secondary education as a minimum, with a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, or a related field being mandatory. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of project management and gender-responsive governance.
Experience: Candidates should have at least three years of progressively responsible work experience in project management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Experience in administrative management is also required, along with proficiency in using computers and office software packages such as MS Word and Excel. Familiarity with web-based management systems and experience in data analysis and visualization are desirable. Additionally, experience in gender equality and women's empowerment, as well as knowledge management, particularly in designing project brochures and presentations, is beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and would enhance the candidate's profile.
