Job Overview:
The Technical Advisor, MNCH will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) activities under the EpiC project in Nepal. This position requires a strategic thinker who can implement ambitious work plans aimed at improving MNCH outcomes in the Karnali, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The advisor will collaborate with the Ministry of Health and Population, particularly the Family Welfare Division, and engage with local implementing partners to ensure technical excellence in program delivery. The role involves designing interventions, managing project timelines, and ensuring the provision of essential commodities and equipment. The Technical Advisor will also contribute to monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning activities, working closely with various stakeholders to achieve significant results in MNCH.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Advisor will lead the implementation of MNCH interventions, providing technical oversight and support to a team of specialists. Key responsibilities include managing project timelines, developing strategic partnerships with government and international organizations, and ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget. The advisor will also prepare program reports, document successes and lessons learned, and serve as the primary contact for the United States Department of State regarding the MNCH program. Additional duties include line management of team members, representing FHI 360 at external functions, and collaborating with senior leaders to ensure strategic alignment across the project.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in public health, behavioral and social sciences, or a related field, along with approximately five years of experience in managing MNCH-focused public health programs. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with around seven years of relevant experience is acceptable. Applicants should have a strong understanding of national MNCH components, experience working with the Government of Nepal, and a proven track record in managing diverse teams within international NGOs. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in public health, behavioral and social sciences, or a related field is required. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree must have additional years of relevant experience to qualify for the position. Educational qualifications should reflect a strong foundation in public health principles, particularly those related to maternal and child health.

Experience:
The position requires around five years of experience in managing public health programs focused on MNCH, or seven years with a Bachelor's degree. Candidates should have experience working in international non-governmental organizations, managing diverse teams, and overseeing large donor-funded projects. Experience in program and financial management, compliance, and quality assurance is crucial, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a virtual environment.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Nepali is mandatory. Excellent documentation skills in both languages are also required. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
