Job Overview:
The Nurse – Mobile Health Team is tasked with delivering essential primary health care services, basic emergency care, and preventive health services to communities affected by crises, including natural disasters and armed conflict, particularly in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and other regions of the Philippines. This role involves operating mobile clinics and providing outpatient consultations, maternal and child health services, immunization support, nutrition screening, and referral services for patients needing higher-level care. The nurse will work in collaboration with local government health offices, community health workers, and project partners to ensure effective health service delivery. Additionally, the nurse will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, supporting health data reporting, and managing medicines and medical supplies according to national health protocols and humanitarian standards. The position also includes conducting health education and community awareness sessions on public health issues, supporting disease surveillance, and adhering to infection prevention and control protocols. The nurse will play a crucial role in ensuring coordinated, ethical, and quality health service delivery in target communities, contributing to the overall health and well-being of crisis-affected populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Nurse – Mobile Health Team will perform a variety of technical responsibilities, including triage and general nursing tasks during missions in crisis-affected communities. Key duties include supporting a medical doctor during primary health care consultations and basic emergency care, conducting patient assessments, monitoring vital signs, and providing basic treatment. The nurse will assist in the referral of complicated cases to appropriate health facilities and support maternal and child health services, including antenatal and postnatal care. Responsibilities also include supporting vaccination teams during immunization activities, conducting nutrition screenings, and referring malnutrition cases. The nurse will engage in disease surveillance, early detection of outbreaks, and reporting of notifiable diseases while ensuring proper infection prevention and control practices. Additionally, the nurse will manage and dispense medicines according to medical protocols, maintain accurate patient records, and prepare activity reports as required. Coordination with local health authorities and partners for mobile clinic scheduling and referrals is also a critical aspect of the role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse with a valid PRC License and possess at least 2 years of clinical experience in settings such as hospitals, Provincial/City/Municipal Health Offices, Rural Health Units (RHU), or community health environments. Experience in primary health care, maternal and child health, and basic emergency care is essential. Familiarity with community health outreach, mobile clinics, or humanitarian settings is required, along with experience in the National Immunization Program (NIP). Candidates should demonstrate the ability to conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, provide first aid, and lead health education sessions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in remote settings, and a commitment to medical ethics and safeguarding are also required. Proficiency in basic computer use (MS Word, Excel) is expected, along with fluency in local dialects, including Filipino and English.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to hold a nursing degree from an accredited institution, along with a valid PRC License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Philippines. Additional certifications or training in areas such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Emergency/Disaster Nursing, Maternal and Newborn Care, and Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) are highly desirable and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, which can be gained in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, health offices, or community health environments. Experience in mobile health clinics or humanitarian response programs is preferred, as is familiarity with working in disaster-affected areas. The ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations is crucial, as is a willingness to travel and be deployed to various locations as needed.

Languages:
Fluency in Filipino and English is mandatory, with proficiency in any local dialect being advantageous. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients and community members, as well as for collaboration with local health authorities and partners.

Additional Notes:
The engagement for this position will be on a roster basis for the duration of the project, which is expected to last for 7 months, involving approximately 17 mobile health missions. The deployment will be scheduled based on operational needs and mutual availability, with participation confirmed prior to each mission. This recruitment is part of a pre-positioning effort, and submission of an application does not guarantee engagement, as any engagement will depend on project activation, funding availability, and final approval. The role requires adherence to Relief International's safeguarding and protection policies, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable communities.
