Job Overview:
The GBV Response Coordinator is responsible for delivering GBV response services and overseeing the management of Women and Girls Centers (WGC). This role involves supervising and mentoring Protection Assistants, team members, and incentive workers, ensuring that GBV response activities are effectively implemented. The coordinator will provide direct support to GBV survivors, including psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support and case management services, while adhering to GBV guiding principles. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to strengthen referral networks and improve access to safe GBV services. The coordinator will also be involved in developing activity schedules, identifying gaps in services, and supporting the implementation of group psychosocial support activities. Additionally, the role includes reporting on response activities and maintaining accurate records of case management information.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the GBV Response Coordinator include:
  • Implementing GBV response activities by providing direct support and care for GBV survivors, including psychosocial support and case management services.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and strengthen referral networks and monitor the implementation of referral pathways.
  • Ensuring adherence to GBV guiding principles and providing survivor-centered care.
  • Developing monthly activity schedules in coordination with prevention colleagues.
  • Identifying gaps in GBV prevention and response services and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Supporting group psychosocial support activities for survivors.
  • Mentoring and providing technical support to field-based staff and GBV Focal Points.
  • Conducting focus group discussions and collecting GBVIMS data ethically and confidentially.
  • Participating in monthly case meetings and sharing best practices. 1
  • Supporting the implementation of the Women Rise Curriculum. 1
  • Supervising field-based assistants and ensuring adherence to GBV guiding principles. 1
  • Providing weekly case updates and submitting reports on response activities. 1
  • Monitoring and supervising the tasks of GBV Focal Points and assessing their areas for improvement. 1
  • Maintaining accurate records of daily activities and ensuring confidentiality of collected information. 1
  • Conducting capacity-building training for GBV Focal Points and evaluating their performance.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the GBV Response Coordinator position include:
  • A university degree (BA/BSc) in a relevant field or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience working with a humanitarian or development organization, with excellent references.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in GBV case management.
  • Familiarity with remote management and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated qualities of warmth, respect, genuineness, empathy, and acceptance towards GBV survivors.
  • Commitment to achieving gender equality and ending all forms of GBV.
  • Willingness to serve women affected by violence regardless of their ethnic background.
  • Knowledge about basic reproductive health.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 1
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of Excel. 1
  • Understanding of the operational context in Rakhine State.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree (BA/BSc) in a relevant field, which is considered an asset. Equivalent professional qualifications may also be accepted. The emphasis is on having a solid foundation in areas related to gender-based violence, humanitarian work, or social services.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience working with a humanitarian or development organization. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience specifically in GBV case management. Familiarity with remote management and service delivery is also essential, as well as a demonstrated commitment to the elimination of racism and discrimination against ethnic minorities.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, as all applications and communications must be conducted in English. Additional languages relevant to the local context may be considered advantageous but are not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is a DRC Regular contract, which includes a 3-month probation period. The contract is renewable based on funding and performance. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment. This position is classified under Employment Band H-Non management.
