Job Overview:
The Senior Finance & Admin Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager by overseeing and coordinating the STRIDES Project's compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements and managing financial and administrative operations. This position involves financial reporting, budget preparation, monitoring project expenditures, and ensuring that all financial activities align with the project’s goals and donor requirements. The officer will conduct analyses of financial data, provide budget analyses for project funds, and prepare necessary reports for project management and funding donors. The role requires a proactive approach to financial management, ensuring the fiscal health of the project while developing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Finance & Admin Officer will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial recording and management for the STRIDES project. This includes overseeing month-end closing reports, preparing project budgets, and updating monthly pipeline reports. The officer will monitor program expenditures against the budget, prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal statutes as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP). Coordination with FHI 360 HQ auditors is essential to ensure that findings and recommendations are implemented. The officer will also maintain effective communication with various teams within the organization to ensure timely capture of project activities and expenditures in financial records. Additionally, the officer will prepare periodic reports on project activities and open items for review with the project team and Country Office staff.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess relevant software skills, particularly in MS Office, and prior experience working with international NGOs and government organizations is advantageous. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to identifying cost savings and efficiency opportunities. The ability to develop effective work plans and prioritize tasks to meet business objectives is crucial. Familiarity with U.S. Department of State funded projects policies and procedures is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, along with at least 5 years of related experience that demonstrates the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role. This educational background ensures that the candidate has a solid foundation in financial principles and practices relevant to the position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance and administration, particularly in roles that involve financial management, compliance, and reporting. Experience working with international NGOs and government organizations is preferred, as it provides valuable insights into the complexities of managing funds in a global context.

Languages:
