Job Overview:
The Senior Anti-Corruption Adviser will play a crucial role in the Economic Crime and Anti-Corruption Unit within the OSCE Mission to Serbia. This position involves formulating and implementing anti-corruption policies and strategies, managing projects aimed at enhancing government transparency, and advising on legal frameworks related to anti-corruption and economic crimes. The adviser will work closely with various stakeholders, including government bodies, civil society, and international organizations, to strengthen the capacity of state institutions to combat corruption effectively. The role requires a deep understanding of international anti-corruption standards and the ability to navigate complex political environments while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Anti-Corruption Adviser will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
  • Formulating and implementing anti-corruption policies and strategies aligned with the Mission's objectives.
  • Planning and managing the Economic Crime and Anti-Corruption Unit's programs and projects.
  • Advising on laws and regulations related to anti-corruption and government transparency.
  • Ensuring effective management of OSCE funds related to the Unit's programs.
  • Liaising with officials and stakeholders involved in anti-corruption initiatives.
  • Supervising local mission members and ensuring their effective contribution to the Unit's goals.
  • Performing other duties as required by the Head of the Rule of Law and Human Rights Department.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in law or economics/finance, or an equivalent qualification supplemented by formal training in economic crime or anti-corruption. Additionally, candidates should have demonstrable organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. A strong understanding of international anti-corruption legal standards is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in law, economics, finance, or a related field is required. Candidates with degrees in other subjects may be considered if they have relevant training or certification in economic crime or anti-corruption.

Experience:
A minimum of six years of relevant professional experience is required, particularly in areas related to anti-corruption, economic crime, or governance. Experience in project design, implementation, and management is highly desirable, as is previous work with international organizations.

Languages:
Professional fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Knowledge of the local language or common lingua franca spoken in the mission area is considered an asset. Additional language skills may enhance a candidate's profile.

This position is classified as a Senior Professional role and is offered on a fixed-term basis with a full-time schedule.
