Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the logistics and reporting for follow-up and review activities related to the Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) and the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD). This position involves coordinating various workshops and sessions, preparing meeting reports, and developing tracking mechanisms for good practices in VNRs. The consultant will also be responsible for liaising with internal and external partners, organizing communications, and ensuring that the participation of major groups and stakeholders is effectively managed. The role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to support high-level international events and capacity-building initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support logistics and reporting for follow-up and review activities, including documenting workshops and sessions, preparing for the VNR plenary session, and developing meeting reports.
  • Coordinate the 2026 VNR Twinning and Peer Learning Programme, including developing terms of reference for twinning arrangements and moderating online spaces.
  • Support preparations for the APFSD, including drafting session plans, contacting speakers, and preparing inputs for the Chair.
  • Liaise with partners and internal teams to deliver on country requests for VNR assistance, updating support trackers, and organizing communications.
  • Facilitate the engagement of major groups and stakeholders in the VNR process, documenting good practices and collaborating with partners for improved stakeholder engagement.
  • Assist the team with organizational, communications, research, and preparatory processes as needed.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a strong background in subjects related to public policy, international relations, environmental management, or social sciences. Candidates should possess good analytical, coordination, event planning, and drafting skills, with the ability to present and summarize information clearly. Excellent English writing skills are essential, along with experience in supporting high-level international events and publications. Familiarity with working with governments and international institutions is also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a degree in public policy, international relations, environmental management, social sciences, or a related field. Advanced degrees may be preferred, depending on the level of expertise required for the position.

Experience:
The consultant should have substantial experience in supporting high-level international events, including organizing regional events and peer learning exchanges. Experience in developing agendas, reporting, and working with various stakeholders is crucial. Candidates should also have a proven track record in research assistance, outreach, and communications.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
