Job Overview:
The Data Management Associate position is crucial for the effective management of data related to refugees and asylum-seekers in Iraq. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the use, maintenance, and technical support of databases utilized in the operation. This role requires a high level of independence, as the associate will work under the general guidance of a professional staff member. The position involves generating statistical reports, providing training to UNHCR staff and implementing partners, and ensuring the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and accuracy of databases. The Data Management Associate will also support registration activities and voluntary repatriation efforts, contributing to the overall mission of UNHCR in Iraq to enhance the protection and services available to displaced populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Data Management Associate include managing the use and maintenance of databases, planning and overseeing data collection, input, and verification processes. The associate will generate standard and ad-hoc reports, provide necessary training to staff, and coordinate with GIS colleagues to ensure compatibility of data collection. Responsibilities also include archiving and backing up database systems, assisting in the development of new applications, ensuring databases are up-to-date, supporting registration and voluntary repatriation activities, developing forms and tools for data collection, and managing risks associated with data management. The associate will also perform other related duties as required, ensuring that all actions align with UNHCR's core values and regulatory framework.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess advanced experience in SQL server management and queries, including knowledge of tables, functions, stored procedures, and views. Familiarity with UNHCR tools such as ProGres V4, RAIS, Power BI, SSIS, and SSRS is essential. Additionally, candidates should have knowledge of Python and R programming languages, as well as supervised machine learning methodologies. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently are also required.

Educational Background:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. While specific fields of education are not applicable, candidates with certifications in Information Technology and Data Management are preferred.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in data management or a related field. Experience working with databases and data analysis tools is essential, as well as familiarity with the operational context of UNHCR and its programs.

Languages:
Knowledge of English is mandatory, along with the UN working language of the duty station if it is not English. For national professional jobs, knowledge of the local language is also required.
