Job Overview:
The Partnerships Officer position at WFP is crucial for strengthening the organization's institutional positioning and building strategic alliances in Venezuela. The role involves establishing connections with national organizations and identifying collaboration and innovation opportunities. The officer will facilitate interactions with key counterparts, promote WFP's agenda on security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and nutrition, and ensure the availability and organization of essential information for decision-making and joint initiatives. The officer will work closely with various functional units to mobilize resources effectively and support the overall mission of WFP in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support resource mobilization efforts by assisting the partnerships unit with activities related to resource mobilization, including proposal development, resource management, and reporting, to support WFP's mission in Venezuela. Facilitate dialogue between different functional units for effective resource mobilization, management, and reporting.
  • Lead the identification, classification, and analysis of opportunities for institutional positioning and alliance-building with national counterparts (private sector, foundations, academia, etc.), prioritizing those that can strengthen national food-based programs.
  • Coordinate innovation labs in collaboration with various technical units to incorporate creative and cost-effective solutions to challenges inherent in WFP's portfolio.
  • Collect, organize, and present internal and external data and inputs related to existing and emerging partnerships of WFP in Venezuela. Prepare briefs, presentations, strategic notes, and other materials required for meetings, proposals, or collaboration processes with national and international actors, in collaboration with the Communications team.
  • Contribute to strengthening alliances and working spaces with other agencies and humanitarian sector partners in the country.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in international studies, communication, social sciences, political science, international development, or related fields. Additionally, candidates should have at least five years of professional experience in partnership management, advocacy, and/or fundraising within the humanitarian sector or social projects. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
A university degree in relevant fields such as international studies, communication, social sciences, political science, or international development is required. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the skills needed for effective partnership management.

Experience:
Candidates are expected to have a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in managing partnerships, advocacy, and/or fundraising within the humanitarian sector or social projects. This experience should demonstrate the ability to navigate complex environments and engage effectively with various stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.

Languages:
Fluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory, with advanced proficiency in speaking and writing required. This bilingual capability is essential for effective communication and collaboration with diverse partners and stakeholders in the region.
