Job Overview:
The Associate Senior Data Architect position at the World Bank involves leading the design and implementation of a modern, agentic, and GenAI-driven insights framework. This role is crucial for breaking down information silos and unlocking value from both structured and unstructured data through scalable automation and robust enterprise solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Technology Backbone, which is a modular and resilient technical ecosystem that supports the deployment of autonomous agents and complex GenAI workflows. The position requires a strong focus on enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening decision-making processes, and improving overall customer experience through innovative data solutions. The role also involves continuous monitoring of product performance and ensuring alignment with the World Bank Group's governance and architecture standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Senior Data Architect include:

• Engineering the Technology Backbone: Designing and overseeing a modular technical ecosystem that supports autonomous agents and complex workflows.
• Leading the consolidation of fragmented technologies into a cohesive platform that enables interoperability between various systems.
• Building scalable infrastructure to transition from static document management to a dynamic, live-data environment.
• Creating high-liquidity data pipelines to ensure information is accessible and structured for AI applications.
• Establishing engineering standards for deploying Generative AI at scale, focusing on enhancing productivity and research capabilities.
• Developing solutions to unlock value from unstructured data, transforming it into actionable intelligence.
• Implementing advanced data structures that allow for reasoning across different sectors and historical data.
• Acting as the primary technical authority, managing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver core components of the Technology Backbone.

• Managing the computational efficiency and sustainability of the Bank’s AI and cloud infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a STEM field with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They should demonstrate expertise in leading data and technology solutions, managing a portfolio of products and services, and have advanced skills in stakeholder engagement and product performance management. Knowledge of emerging technologies, systems thinking, and change management methodologies is essential. Candidates should also have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to provide thought leadership and develop high-impact business cases.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a STEM field is required, with a preference for candidates who have additional certifications in relevant areas such as SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner, Azure platforms, or Databricks. A Bachelor’s degree is acceptable if accompanied by significant relevant experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience for candidates with a Master’s degree, or at least 10 years for those with a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in large, complex organizations or international development settings is preferred, particularly in delivering solutions in a global delivery model.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. While no additional languages are specified as preferred, proficiency in other languages may be beneficial in a diverse workplace.
