Job Overview: The Office Support Assistant, Messenger plays a crucial role in providing administrative, messenger, and operational support to ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of the STRIDES Project office. This position is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mail, document delivery and collection, office logistics, meeting arrangements, and general office services. The incumbent will work under close supervision, supporting routine administrative tasks, facilitating document movement between the office and external institutions, and assisting with office facility coordination. The role also includes monitoring office maintenance services to maintain a safe, organized, and professional workplace environment for staff, partners, and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Office Support Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail, documents, and courier packages; delivering and collecting official documents from banks, government offices, vendors, and partner organizations; providing photocopying, scanning, filing, and general document handling services; assisting the Admin & Procurement Officer in coordinating with vendors; maintaining office supply and store records; maintaining vehicle movement and logbooks; providing reception support; and performing other related administrative or operational duties as assigned. Additionally, the assistant will monitor and supervise cleaning staff to ensure office cleanliness standards are maintained, report maintenance or facility issues, provide logistical support for meetings and office events, and assist with administrative arrangements related to event procurement.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent, with a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) preferred. A minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in office support, messenger services, administration, or similar roles is required. Experience in an NGO, development project, or corporate office environment is advantageous. Familiarity with basic office procedures and standard office equipment is essential, along with basic reading, writing, and communication skills in English and fluency in Bangla, the host country language.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) as a minimum qualification, while a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) is preferred.
