Job Overview:
As the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director for HIV Delivery, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic and operational leadership across the entire spectrum of product introduction and delivery, particularly focusing on primary and secondary prevention strategies, including HIV testing, treatment, and viral suppression. This position is pivotal in bridging the gap between innovation and tangible impact, ensuring that new prevention and treatment technologies are introduced in an efficient and effective manner while preparing delivery platforms for sustainable and equitable scaling. The role emphasizes high-burden areas, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, where the need for impactful interventions is most pressing. You will report to the Director of Health for Africa and work closely with the Director of HIV & TB Delivery to ensure that implementation strategies are informed by data and oriented towards achieving measurable outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include leading the design and execution of a cohesive HIV product introduction and delivery strategy aimed at accelerating the uptake of innovations and achieving significant reductions in HIV incidence and mortality. You will oversee the introduction and scaling of new prevention and treatment technologies at the country level, including long-acting antiretrovirals (ARVs), novel diagnostics, and AI-supported digital adherence tools. Collaboration with ministries of health, implementing partners, and community stakeholders will be essential to integrate new products into national health systems and service delivery platforms. You will partner with the Deputy Director of Evidence Generation to ensure that strategy development and implementation monitoring are grounded in robust data and modeling. Additionally, you will strengthen coordination across various internal foundation teams to enable comprehensive, people-centered delivery models, provide strategic guidance to team members, shape investment portfolios that support market readiness and implementation science, and represent the foundation in external engagements with public and private sector stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a PhD, MD, or equivalent in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 15 years of experience in global health delivery, particularly in HIV program management and innovation introduction. A proven track record of successfully introducing and scaling new health technologies within both public and private health systems is essential. Familiarity with regulatory, policy, supply chain, and provider training considerations for product introduction is required. Experience in developing and managing large-scale investment portfolios and consortia is also necessary. Strong analytical skills, comfort with data and modeling, and the ability to translate technical insights into strategic decisions are crucial. Candidates should have experience influencing government and donor stakeholders at regional and national levels, along with excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in a related field, which provides the necessary foundation for understanding complex health systems and the scientific principles underlying HIV prevention and treatment.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in HIV delivery, particularly in product introduction and health system implementation, with a strong focus on sub-Saharan Africa. A deep technical expertise in prevention and treatment programs is highly desirable, along with a demonstrated ability to navigate the complexities of health systems in the region.

Languages:
