The intern will work closely with the Adolescent and Youth Team Leader and the programme specialist to contribute to various projects and initiatives that align with UNFPA's strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing youth participation and engagement. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the design and organization of youth-led events, both virtual and in-person.
Collaborating with youth-led organizations to disseminate UNFPA's messaging effectively.
Supporting the Communications Unit in creating and distributing communication materials, including social media content and newsletters.
Building capacity and providing linkages with existing networks and programs at the continental level.
Generating knowledge and sharing best practices related to youth empowerment.
Establishing a roster of youth consultants and regional engagement mechanisms.
Mapping and creating a dashboard of youth-led innovations across the region.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet several qualifications to be eligible for the internship. These include a demonstrated interest in development, particularly in SRHR, and the ability to adapt to diverse environments. Candidates should possess strong analytical and writing skills, initiative, and sound judgment.
