Job Overview: The Director of Technical Cooperation will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating the IAEA's technical cooperation program. The Director will work closely with the Deputy Director General and other regional divisions to enhance the program's impact and relevance. Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development and promotion of operational strategies and policies for the technical cooperation program.
Advise the Deputy Director General on strategic and policy issues affecting the program.
Oversee the implementation of quality management systems and ensure a results-based approach throughout the program cycle.
Coordinate communication, resource mobilization, and partnership strategies with various stakeholders, including international organizations and donors.
Manage the Technical Cooperation Fund and extrabudgetary resources effectively, ensuring optimal use of financial resources.
Promote cooperation with all departments involved in the technical cooperation program and enhance mutual understanding with member states.
Supervise and manage human and financial resources within the division, fostering innovation and performance management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in international relations, political science, public administration, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Applicants should have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in international cooperation, with extensive program and resource management experience, including at least five years at a senior management or executive level. Experience in technical cooperation and development work, particularly in partnership and resource mobilization, is essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced degree in a relevant field such as international relations, political science, or public administration. Candidates with a first-level university degree and additional relevant experience may also be considered. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of international cooperation and the technical aspects of the IAEA's work.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in international cooperation, with a strong emphasis on program and resource management. Additional Notes: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $117,953, along with a variable post adjustment and various benefits such as dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, and relocation expenses.
