Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for adhering to all NRC regulations, policies, and procedures. Key responsibilities include participating in the induction session, demonstrating motivated participation in the learning experience, and carrying out roles and responsibilities as specified in the Terms of Reference (ToR) provided by the supervisor. The intern will also be expected to engage in regular supervisory meetings, receive guidance and support, and complete tasks on schedule while following instructions. NRC will ensure that the intern has access to necessary resources, including working space and equipment, and will provide a stipend in accordance with organizational guidelines. Additionally, the intern will receive a letter of completion upon successful completion of the internship program.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to present and convey information clearly and concisely. The intern should demonstrate a capacity to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through both formal and informal methods. Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) is mandatory, along with fluency in the Rohingya or Chittagonian local language. Computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), are required. A solid understanding of the context in Bangladesh, especially regarding the Rohingya response, is also necessary. The ideal candidate will exhibit personal qualities such as a problem-solving mindset, flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to learning new digital tools.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to have recently graduated with a degree, preferably in Social Science. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the socio-political context in which NRC operates. A degree in a related field will provide the foundational knowledge necessary for effective engagement in the internship role.

Experience:

Additional Notes:
The internship is based in Cox’s Bazar and has a duration of four months. The intern will be expected to travel approximately 40% of the time. A monthly stipend of 20,000.00 BDT will be provided to the intern. Working hours are from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
