Job Overview: The Programme CoordinationAnalyst position at UN Women is a critical role that involves coordinating the South Africa Country Office (CO) portfolios. The incumbent will report directly to the Head of Programmes and will be responsible for managing relationships with national partners and stakeholders, overseeing monitoring and reporting processes, and managing finances and personnel related to the portfolios. The role requires a strategic approach to planning and implementation of programmes in alignment with the UN Women's strategic note and national development priorities. The Programme Coordination Analyst will contribute to the development of concept notes for UN Women's intervention areas and support the formulation of country programming processes and products. This includes the preparation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSCDF) and other joint programming documents. The position also entails establishing systems for project planning, implementation, and monitoring in collaboration with partners, ensuring effective coordination and communication with national stakeholders, and providing technical support for inter-agency coordination efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Coordination Analyst include:
Coordinating the Programme/Portfolios for South Africa CO by developing and implementing overall work plans according to strategic documents, providing support for strategic planning, and contributing to the formulation of concept notes and country programming processes.
Contributing to coordination with national partners and stakeholders by providing technical support for inter-agency coordination, preparing briefing materials for the Country Office, and supporting the development of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization efforts.
Coordinating the monitoring and reporting of the CO by compiling necessary information for monitoring and reporting on programmes and projects, drafting annual and quarterly reports, and coordinating the submission of financial and narrative reports from implementing partners.
Advocating and facilitating knowledge sharing, management, and communication by supporting the development and dissemination of good practices, contributing to the exchange of information, and coordinating major advocacy campaigns and events.
Performing other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Programme Coordination Analyst position include a Master's degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, social sciences, or other related areas. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an added advantage. Candidates should possess strong programme formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation skills, as well as good budget and finance skills. Knowledge of Results Based Management and the ability to gather and interpret data to present findings and recommendations are essential. Familiarity with UN programme management systems is also required.

Experience: The position requires at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in managing complex and multi-component programme interventions with national partners, preferably in areas related to gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience in coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development programmes and projects is desirable. Candidates should also have experience in using computers and office software packages (such as MS Word and Excel), as well as spreadsheet and database management. Familiarity with web-based management systems and experience with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is also desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for the Programme Coordination Analyst position. While English is the mandatory language, proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
