Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD plays a crucial role in the investment process, contributing to various phases including deal sourcing, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst is expected to take on responsibilities assigned by the operation leader or senior bankers, which may involve conducting comprehensive due diligence across financial, market, integrity, and compliance aspects. The role requires effective collaboration within a project team, ensuring that tasks are completed to a high standard and within specified time frames. The Analyst will also engage in portfolio monitoring and value creation activities, building relationships with portfolio company management teams and assisting in the implementation of technical cooperation assignments. This position is designed to allow the Analyst to progressively take on more complex tasks and expand their scope of responsibilities based on their experience and expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst's duties include working as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution through comprehensive research and analysis of market information and financial performance data. The Analyst will analyze potential risks related to proposed projects, prepare and update financial models, and assist in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance. Responsibilities also include communication with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, as well as assisting in due diligence processes. The Analyst will undertake tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures. They will prepare monitoring reports and recommendations for corrective actions, build relationships with portfolio company management, and assist in value creation activities. The role is structured to allow for progressive responsibility based on the Analyst's growing expertise.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred, along with professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA being desirable. The role requires strong quantitative and numerical skills, the ability to interpret financial information, and proficiency in designing and using financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, computer literacy, and be conversant with Microsoft Office and financial analysis software. Effective teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree or equivalent experience. Relevant professional qualifications in finance or accounting are also advantageous, indicating a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.
Experience: The position requires relevant experience in venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or a related field. Candidates should have experience working with startups and interacting with founders, as well as involvement in extracurricular activities such as entrepreneurship or hackathons. Experience in a specific sector relevant to the fund's investment focus is also beneficial.
